Stepladder Ranch & Creamery is home to our dairy and creamery just off Highway 1 on the Central Coast of California. We make traditional, small-batch cheeses with milk from our herd of LaMancha goats. During the goat milk off season from November through March, we also make cow's milk cheeses from milk we source locally from the dairy science program at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
Our goals are to create world class products and to provide a positive and meaningful workplace for our staff as well as a healthy, sustainable environment for our animals.
Stepladder Ranch was founded in 1871 and has been family-owned and operated for three generations.
As a farmstead creamery, we raise our goats on the farm and make cheese from their milk – allowing us to manage every aspect of our cheese production.
Our delicious, mild and creamy fresh Chèvre is the ultimate representation of spring cheesemaking.
